Janet Keener

Janet A. Keener, 69, of Rochester Mills, passed away December 27, 2022 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born on July 18, 1953 in Union City, PA the daughter of the late Chester and Lelia (Richards) Daley. On March 13, 1971 she married Thomas Keener, who survives.

Retired, Janet worked for Mahoning Outdoor Furnace Manufacturing for 20 years.

Janet enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren and her cats- especially her cat “Sparky”. You could often find her enjoyed an evening sitting on her porch with her husband Thomas watching the deer and humming birds.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years , Thomas Keener; a son, Michael Keener and his wife Heather of Rochester Mills and a daughter, Tracy Stewart and her companion Ray Richardson of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren: Paige Stewart, Sarah Hile, Brady Keener and Cassidy Keener; a great granddaughter, Scarlett Hile; and a sister, Blanche Briggs of Corry, PA and a brother, Wayne Daley.

At the wishes of Janet there will be no services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions can be made to a local animal shelter in the hopes of saving a cat or a dog.
