Terry Lee Burkett

Terry Lee Burkett, of DuBois, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at home.

He was born on October 12, 1985 in DuBois, a son of the late Christine Lynn (Sweitzer) Burkett and Randall Lee Burkett, Sr., who survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

Terry was just ten when his mother died unexpectedly, which was a loss that he was truly never able to process and work through.  He became a lost soul searching for comfort and understanding.  Terry really enjoyed life, he just didn’t know how to deal with it.

Terry enjoyed camping, especially the campfire, fishing, and listening music.  He was always there for his friends.

He loved his family and had a special bond with his sister Myranda.

He is survived by his father, Randall Lee Burkett, Sr. and wife Rebbecca, a son, Dylan Burkett, two sisters, Myranda Phillips and husband Jonathon of Punxsutawney, and Nerissa Boatwright and husband Mike of Brunswick, GA; maternal grandmother, Georgia Sweitzer of DuBois; paternal grandparents, Verlon and Marian Burkett of Punxsutawney.

There will be no viewing.  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

His ashes will be buried next to his mother Christine at Markton Cemetery.
