Shannon L. Rimer

Shannon L. Rimer, 74 of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born July 26, 1942 in Henderson Township, Jefferson County, the son of the late Olen and Bernice (Peoples) Rimer.
 
Mr. Rimer was a United States Marine.

He married the former Shirley Humble, together they enjoyed forty six years of marriage.  Shirley survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

He worked for many years at Gresock Lawn Service.

His enjoyments were tinkering with cars, traveling, and he was fan of the Star Trek movie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children; two sons, Tracey Rimer, Terry Rimer and wife Jennifer; two daughters, Stacy Depp and husband Larry, and Shannon Rimer and Jason Williams, all of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Eileen Pastwick and husband Eugene of Cheektowaga, NY, and Helen McClammy and husband Willis of Mesquite, TX; five grandchildren, McKenzie Conoran and Robyn Depp, Jordan, Evan, and Nicholas Humble.

Preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Woodrow, Dale, Lavan, Blaine, Burkett and Russell Rimer; and one sister, Fern Rake.

There will be no visitation.  Arrangements under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
