Ashton Richard Smith

Ashton Richard Smith, 8, of Punxsutawney, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 09, 2017 at home with his loving family.

He was born in Punxsutawney on June 14, 2008, the son of Ashley Nicole Perry.

Although Ashton’s illness made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges with the love and devotion of his dear mother Ashley.

Ashton loved the sun and sand along the shoreline on the beach where he could play with his siblings and family.

With Ashton’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated.  Although we will miss him every day he will forever remain in our hearts.

He leaves behind his mother Ashley, his father, Josh Schutz;  his brother, Thad Schutz; his sister, Haley Schutz; grandparents, Tracy Perry of Punxsutawney, Rich Perry of Punxsutawney, Eric & Becky Munger; great grandparents, Beverly Killian and Joan Rolls.

There will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
