Alex Butchkosky, 88 of Converse, Indiana passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Miller's Merry Manor in the state of Indiana. Mr. Butchkosky was born in Shantytown (Nanty Glo), PA on July 8, 1928. Alex was married to Irene Marie Kormos who passed away on April 18, 2002.
Mr. Butchkosky was an entrepreneur and owned several restaurants and hotels in Erie, PA and the Florida Keys.
Mr. Butchkosky is survived by a daughter, Allison Kuch and her husband Brent of Davenport, Indiana. Alex is also survived by one grandchild, Jason Dingman and one great-grandchild, Timothy Dingman.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene, five brothers, and three sisters. His brothers were Frank, Mike, Nick, Stanley, and Andy Butchkosky. His sisters were Annie Lutsky, Helen Sites, and Katie Sharp.
Friends were received from at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc of Punxsutawney, PA. A funeral mass was held at SSCD Catholic Church of Punxsutawney at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 officiated by Monsignor Joseph Ricardo.
Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery.
