Sharon Lea Heckler, 75, of Valier, passed away September 19, 2022 at Penn Highland DuBois.
She was born on November 25, 1946 in Pittsburgh the daughter of the late Clark James Headlee and Dorothy (Brown) Gresock. On February 2, 1966 she married Glen Heckler Sr, who survives. Glen and Sharon moved to Punxsutawney PA in 1972.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, sister and homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family. She will be remembered for her kind heart, willingness to lend a helping hand to others and her inability to never say no to anyone.
Sharon was a ray of sunshine. She knew how to make everyone feel special as well as loved. She was always in the mood for a get together or family party. On Special occasions where music was involved she was the first one on the dance floor. She was an animal lover and enjoyed many family pets over the years. Her hobbies included shopping, baking, cooking, gardening and reading.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Glen F. Heckler Sr.; two children: Christine Covatch and her husband Tim of Punxsutawney and Glen F. Heckler Jr and his wife Tara of Valier; five grandchildren: Chad Heckler and his wife Brittany, Ty Albright and his wife Lynne, Briea Heckler and her boyfriend Kyler Berringer, Guy Heckler and Blake Heckler; two great grandchildren: Weston and Brynn Heckler; a brother, Barry Headlee Sr. and his wife Lydia of Pittsburgh; three in-laws: Sue Anderson, Raymond Heckler and his wife Arlene and Sandy Schmiedlin and her husband John; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Wayne Anderson.
A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held on October 15, 2022 starting at 4pm on the Heckler family farm.
