Sandra Dubensky Obituary

Sandra Lee Dubensky, 85, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at AM/PM Personal Care Home in Delancey.

She was born in Punxsutawney on July 21, 1938, a daughter of the late George S. “Scottie” Clark and Elsie H. (Braunns) Clark.

Mrs. Dubensky was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

On May 17, 1958, she married the love of her life, David Michael Dubensky, Sr., he survives and resides in Delancey.  They would have celebrated their sixty-sixth anniversary in May.  Their love and dedication to one another was truly a love story right up to the end.

She worked as a lunch aide at Mary A. Wilson Elementary School for many years.  She was the activities director at Blose McGregor Nursing Home, she later became a patient advocate and offered great insight to help develop the Alzheimer's Dementia unit at Christ the King Manor.

Sandra was gifted with the love and compassion for others that she met in her life.  She would help people with the gift of kindness and showed them she cared about them by giving anything that she was able to give or help with.  It was her nature to be “A Giver” and will be remembered for her heart of gold.  Putting others before herself was woven into her being.  Her concern for others continued after becoming a resident at AM/PM Personal Care Home, she wanted to be sure everyone felt welcome and had everything they needed.

High School band students that attended band events with her children will remember Mrs. Dubensky, as the fun Chaparone on the buses.  She was a delight and enjoyed the excitement of the kids but never had a problem keeping things under control because she was respected and liked by all.

Above all her accomplishments, her family and being a grandmother to her beloved granddaughters was the most important thing in her life.  She was so proud of all of them.

In addition to her husband David, she is survived by two children, Patricia “Patty” (Dan) Jones of Brockway and David Michael Dubensky, Jr. of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Alexis Rachel Dubensky and fiancé David Green of Amhearst, Ohio, and Brooke Noel Dubensky of Kent, Ohio.

She was the last member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Klaudine Dunmire, Khloris Gray, Ann Gagliardi, and Linda Dubensky; three brothers, Frank, William and Robert Clark.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Memorial donations may be made to AM/PM Personal Care Home in her memory.  The family would like to thank AM/PM Personal Care Home for their outstanding care given to Sandra and David.
