Samuel Meigs Adams, 84, of Walston, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor.
He was born at home in the same home he resided all his life in Walston, on September 21, 1941, as son of the late Frank Thomas Adams and Margaret Elizabeth (Kramer) Adams.
He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.
Mr. Adams was a United States Army Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War.
On June 19, 1971, he married the love of his life, Thelma Jean Glenn. They met on her birthday, later married and enjoyed fifty-three years prior to her death on February 21, 2024.
Sam previously worked at Prammco, Rola, the Highway Department and finally retiring as the custodian from Mary A. Wilson Elementary School. Sam also served as the Young Township supervisor.
He was a member of the Walston Club. His enjoyments were hunting, fishing, coffee club and going to hunting camp in Burnside. His favorite saying at camp was “Can’t kill a buck”.
Sam is survived by two children, Jennifer (John) McCall of Clarion and Shawn Adams of Walston; two grandchildren, Megan (Bill) Troup of Templeton and Alicia Kanouff of Brockway; three great grandchildren, Finnley, Zaiden and Mackston Troup; one sister, Nora Seifferly of Bay City, Michigan.
Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Thelma; three brothers, Francis “Bud” Adams, Charles “TNT” Adams and Robert Adams; two sisters, Jane Fournier and Philamina Mauro.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no viewing. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
