Ruth Ann Smith

Ruth Ann Smith, 86, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Thursday, August 09, 2024, at Mulberry Square Eldercare.

She was born in Clearfield on December 05, 1937, a daughter of the late Joseph Welder and LaRue (Frantz) Welder.

Ruth married Hazel David Smith. He preceded her in death on 1989.

Her enjoyments were being outdoors, sitting on the porch listening to the birds and animals, working puzzles and watching her television programs.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Jeffrey Allen Smith and Herbert James Smith of Punxsutawney; one daughter, Mary Metts of Knox; three grandchildren, Frankie, Andy and Amber Metts.

Preceded in death by a brother, George Frantz and a sister, Sarah Bell.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery.
