Ronald E Kanouff

Ronald Eugene Kanouff, 84, of Punxsutawney, passed away August 20, 2023. He was born on July 7, 1939, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Henry Clay Kanouff and Dorothy Inez (Sutter) Kanouff. On October 14, 1958, he married Helen “June” (Gaston) Kanouff, who preceded him in death on September 18, 1996. Ronald was a member of the Big Run Presbyterian Church. Ronald enjoyed spending time with his family and socializing with friends. He will be remembered for his outgoing spirit and kind heart. He is survived by his four children, Ronald “Rick” Kanouff and his fiancé Vicki Blattenberger of Blairsville, Gary E. Kanouff and his wife Donna of Marion Center, Robin Gray and her husband Daniel of Juneau and Bobbi Young and her husband Mark of Punxsutawney; ten grandchildren: Jessica Lowmaster, Cody Lowmaster, Nathan Kanouff and his wife Cheyenne, Jonathan Kanouff, Joseph Kanouff and his wife Amanda, Dustin Gray and his wife Ashley, Adrian Bingaman and her husband Dustin, Emma, Gage and Nora Young; sixteen great grandchildren; a brother, Earl “Snook” Kanouff and his wife Donna of Juneau; brother-in-law, Oscer Murry; sister-in-law, Wendy Kanouff and his longtime companion, Donna Painter. In addition to his parents and wife, Ronald was preceded in death by two brothers: Mervin Winters and Terry Kanouff; a sister, Jean Murry and a sister-in-law, Dolly Winters. The family will receive friends from 4-8pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney. An additional hour of viewing will be held at 10am on Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 24, 2023 with Pastor Devin Wintermeyer officiating.
