Robert Lee “Morgan” Shrecengost, 69, of Ringgold, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at home.
He was born August 3, 1948 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Warren Harding “Mutt” and Dorothy Blanche (Reimer) Shrecengost.
On December 24, 1970 he married the former Barbara Ann Shaffer. She survives and resides in Ringgold.
“Morgan” worked as a truck driver before he and his wife Barb purchased Route 210 Flea Market in 1991. He then became an “Entrepreneur” where he was the master and proprietor of B.S. Sales. He and his wife enjoyed working together and met many people over the years.
One of his biggest enjoyments in life was playing with gunpowder and fireworks, he absolutely loved the smell and excitement of both. All of his neighbors discovered how much he liked his “stash” of fireworks and looked forward to his yearly display.
He also enjoyed “irritating” his wife, riding his Kubota tractor, reading and talking politics. He previously enjoyed fishing in Florida, riding motorcycle and snowmobile.
Survived by his wife Barb, two daughters, Jacki Shrecengost of Punxsutawney and Jill Shrecengost of Hilton Head, SC; one granddaughter, Kasey Dawn Shrecengost; one brother, Joseph Allen Shrecengost of Dry Ridge; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dennis Warren “Nutsy” Shrecengost.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home. Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Roger Farrah.
Interment will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Ringgold.
