Robert Pearce Obituary

Robert Milton Pearce, 65, of Glen Campbell, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born in Spangler on December 18, 1955, a son of the late Charles Harvey Pearce and Doris Jean (Hopkins) Pearce.

On June 25, 1983, he married the love of his life, Penny Ellen Huey. She survives and resides in Glen Campbell.

He was a member of Chestnut Grove Independent Church.

Bob was a heavy equipment operator for RES Coal Company.

His passion in life was farming, he found great satisfaction in working the land.

Bob loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He loved to go camping and spending time with them, particularly in Kettle Creek in Renovo, Clinton County.

Mr. Pearce always had a smile on his face, he was pleasant and had a jolly demeanor. Children often thought he was Santa Claus, and Bob played right along to the wonder of many small believers. The children walked away believing they got to talk to Santa.

In addition to his wife Penny, he is survived by four daughters, Jean Ann Pearce of Ohio, Heidi Pearce of Glen Campbell, Bobbi Pearce of Glen Campbell, and Ashley Sprankle and husband Eric of Rossiter; six grandchildren, Jasmine, Bella, Tyler and Lily Ann Pearce, Easton and Maddison Sprankle; three brothers, Ronald Pearce and wife Mary of Glen Campbell, Gary Pearce and wife Deb of Mahaffey, and Jody Smith of Punxsutawney; one sister, Edith Fulton and husband Larry of Luthersburg; one brother in-law, Gary Mack of Rossiter; sister in-law Sue Pearce of Punxsutawney; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, James Pearce; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Pearce; and sister, Gloria Mack.

Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Monday, December 06, 2021, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Joe Spack.
