Robert Merle McCoy

Robert Merle McCoy, 76, of Punxsutawney, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 4, 2021.

He was born in Marion Center, a son of the late Howard Smith McCoy and Katherine (Jeffries) McCoy. 

Mr. McCoy was a United States Army Veteran that served during the Vietnam Era from 1965 to 1967.  He was a proud Army Veteran and he participated in honoring other Veterans with military funeral honors for many years.

On September 23, 1977 he married Susan RaChelle Limrick.  They have enjoyed forty-three years of marriage and raised a loving family.  She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

Bob was a good father, he loved his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed watching Sci-Fi on Television, going for walks, and previously enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife Sue, he is survived by five children, April Stewart and husband Shawn of Punxsutawney, John Aaron and wife Cindy of Punxsutawney, Marsha Elkin and husband Lee of Smicksburg, Robert “Rob” McCoy and wife Tracy of Punxsutawney, and Jeremy McCoy and wife Amy of Rossiter; ten grandchildren, Tara Campbell, Nicholas Campbell, Emilly Aaron, David Aaron, Dustin Aaron, Leticia Wachob, and Justin Waltman, Jacob, Noah and Izaak McCoy; four great grandchildren; numerous brothers and sisters.

There will be no visitation.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. McCoy’s memory to St Jude Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
