Hunting, fishing and trapping were other favorite pastimes. His fondest hunting memories were coon hunting with his favorite dog Abe.  He made many hunting trips to Colorado to hunt elk and mule deer.

The most precious thing to Dick was the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They meant the world to him and he absolutely adored all of them.

In addition to his wife, Cynthia, he is survived by four children, Michael (LuAnn) Miller of Punxsutawney, Linda (Joe) Juliette of Valier, Amy (Dennis) Burkett of Punxsutawney and Jeff (Sheri) Miller of Walston; eleven grandchildren, Allison Miller, Ian Miller, Justin Juliette, Josie (Ty) Newcome, Derek (Patricia) Sherwin, Patrick Sherwin, Megan (Nathaniel) Byham, Jodi Howard, Carrie (Kyle) Palmero, Morgan Miller and Derek Keller; fifteen great grandchildren.
