Rae Marie Hockenberry

Rae Marie Hockenberry, 53, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Clarion.

She was born in Spangler on October 18, 1970, a daughter of the late Raymond Edward Hockenberry and Audry Mae (Hollen) Hockenberry.

Rae was Pentecostal by faith, and she was a graduate of Calvary Bible Academy

She previously worked for Goodwill Industries and CJ Packing in DuBois.

Her heart was big and loving, she cared about others, particularly, her nieces and nephews.  She loved all animals and especially cats.  Making any type of crafts was a favorite hobby that she enjoyed immensely.

Survived by one brother, William Lynn Hockenberry and wife Becky of Punxsutawney; nieces and nephews, Brittany (Cody) Martz of Tennessee, Jesse (Kathryn) Hockenberry of Punxsutawney, Jennifer (Bill) Young of Punxsutawney, Barbie (Arthur) Cross of Florida and Jason Dotts of Florida.

Preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Raymond Edward Hockenberry and sister, Althea Dotts.

Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Jeffrey Snyder.

Interment will at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Glasgow.

Memorial donations may be made in Rae’s memory to a local humane society.
