Paul William Covert, 81, of Reynoldsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Sewickley on November 24, 1943, the only child of the late Paul Lawrence Covert and Eleanor (Pfaff) Covert.
Mr. Covert worked as an American steel and iron manufacturer of J&L (Jones & Laughlin) Steel mill which was located in Sewickley. He later worked as a security guard prior to his retirement.
In his younger days, Paul enjoyed riding his Harley with his sons, enjoying the open air and scenery that surrounded them.
He most recently enjoyed sitting on the porch with his dogs Rylee and Diesel, just watching the birds and enjoying the day. Paul had a sense of humor, often joking and teasing with people he interacted with.
His presence was steadfast and true, each day when his daughter left for work, he would always say “okay, I’ll be here.” He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by four children, Scott Covert of Warren, Lynn Lombardo of Bridgeville, Eric (Kathy) Covert of Mooresboro, North Carolina and Catherine Ohler, with whom he made his home with in Reynoldsville; seven grandchildren, Heather (Joey) King, Christopher Covert, Matthew Lombardo, Catherine “Katie” Ohler, Courtney (Jeffrey Kuntz) Ohler, Kelsey Snyder and Jessica (John) McLaughlin; four great grandchildren, Brantly and Bristol King, Anthony Lombardo and Paisley Kuntz.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
