Patrick Francis Wright

Surrounded by his loved ones, Patrick Francis Wright, 83, of Punxsutawney (formerly of Brockway) passed away on January 15, 2022, in Punxsutawney.

He was born in Brookville, a son of the late James and Mary Catherine (Cohlhepp) Wright.

Mr. Wright proudly served in the Army Reserves.

Following graduation from Brookville High School, he continued his education at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  Mr. Wright was instrumental in the education of the children of the Brockway Area School District for thirty-five years.  He was secretary of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Mr. Wright was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Tobias Catholic Church in Brockway.

He lived a long fulfilling life as a father, grandfather, teacher and principal.

Patrick was an avid sportsman, he loved hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family.  He especially enjoyed the grandchildren and great grandchildren, who kept him young at heart with their curiosity, learning, laughter and genuine love.

He is survived by his former wife, Beverly Wright; three daughters Kelly Wright, Wendy Lindenmuth and husband Dan, and Mary Kay Fedigan; grandchildren, Khellsey Wright and Jeremy Pearce, Madison Lindenmuth, Abigail Fedigan and Lucas Ricks, Alexah Stumpf and husband Stephen, Mason Lindenmuth and Patrick Fedigan; great grandchildren, Hadlee and Holden Fedigan, Kalysta and Kashton Stumpf; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, Margaret Dorcy, James Wright, William Wright, Constance Fitzpatrick and Thomas Wright.

In accordance to his wishes, there will be no viewing.  Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.

His ashes will be interred at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Brookville.

Mr. Wright made a pledge for life through his selfless donation to CORE, Center for Organ Recovery and Education.
