Obituary

Patricia Louise Valkosky, 88, of Punxsutawney, passed away March 30, 2023 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born on June 13, 1934 in Punxsutawney the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Ford) Bowser. On May 14, 1960 she married the late John Edward Valkosky Sr, who preceded her in death on September 12, 2010.

Patricia was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Rossiter. She enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors, gardening, and mowing grass. Her pass time hobby was reading Amish romance books and putting puzzles together. But above all she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and grand dogs.

She will be remembered to her kind hearted spirit, giving and self-sacrificing for others. Her family always came first and was there anytime someone needed her.

Patricia is survived by her four children: Douglas Paul Valkosky and his wife Carol of Punxsutawney, John Edward Valkosky and his wife Debby of Punxsutawny, Gregory James Valkosky and his wife Karie of Decorah, Iowa and Mary Ann Valkosky of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren: Jeremy Valkosky and his wife Rebecca, Shane Valkosky and his wife Melodie, Alexa Valkosky, Tyler Valkosky, Payton Valkosky, Brynne Naughton and her husband Cade, Katie Valkosky and Abbie Valkosky; two great grandchildren: Isabella Valkosky and Gabriella Valkosky; a brother, Arnold Bowser and his wife Carol of Seven Valley, PA; a sister, Lownetta Bowser of Knoxville, TN.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Hank Bowser, Harry Bowser, Cletus Bowser, Earl Bowser, Wilber Bowser, Lavern Bowser, Mary Lloyd, June Chapman, Delphine Thomas, Virgina Smith and an infant sister, Dorothy Fay Bowser.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am on April 3, 2023 at the Church of the Resurrection in Rossiter with father James Morley as celebrant. Burial will be in Church of the Resurrection Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
