Patricia Arlean “MeMa” Spencer, 91, of Punxsutawney, passed away August 29, 2022 at Mulberry Square.
She was born on December 24, 1930, in Rossiter the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Dwyer) Hanna.
Patricia was a dedicated homemaker, mother and mema.
She volunteered at Punxsutawney Area Hospital for 25 years. Pat was a kind and friendly face in the hallways of the hospital. She will also be remembered for being the “coffee lady” at the Mahoning towers. She made frequent trips for McDonalds for a cup of coffee and to socialize with others. Pat loved people and she was loved in return. She was independent and always active. She kept herself busy and even enjoyed mowing grass up until two years ago when she was forced to quit.
Her hobbies included bowling, bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by his three children: Cheryl Dobbins of Punxsutawney, Gary Spencer of New Brighton, PA and Dusty Spencer of FL; 5 grandchildren: Trevor Dobbins and his wife Olivia of Punxsutawney, Matthew Spencer of New Brighton, Scott Dobbins and his wife Faleasha of Punxsutawney, Christopher Spencer and his wife Nikki of Baden, PA and Sean Spencer of New Brighton and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter in law Jane Spencer, two brothers: Richard “Dick” Hanna and James “Pete” Hanna and two infant siblings: Gary and Betty Hanna.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no viewing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
Her ashes will be interred at Dever’s Cemetery, Indiana County.
