Patricia Kerr Obituary

Patricia Mae Kerr, 81, of Big Run, Passed away at home on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

She was born in Erie, on February 8, 1942, a daughter of the late Clyde Arthur Stiver and Bertha LaRue (Smith) Stiver.

On July 2, 1965, she married her sweetheart, Clarence Robert Kerr.  They enjoyed nearly fifty-eight years together and raised a family.

Mrs. Kerr was a member of the Big Run Presbyterian Church.

She worked at Loree Footwear and the Big Run School for twenty years, both in the cafeteria and as a playground monitor.  She loved the children and her working with her co-workers.

In her free time, she found joy in being a homemaker, reading and sitting on the porch with her dear husband Bob.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children,

Bonnie Long of Big Run, Thomas C. (Melissa) Kerr of Corsica and Timothy A. (Pamela) Kerr of Sykesville; three grandchildren, Holly Long, Erin (Jeffery) Paul and Benjamin Long; three great grandchildren, James and Charles Huber and Adah Paul; two brothers, Leroy Stiver of Juneau and Leonard (Crystal) Stiver of Punxsutawney; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Randall T. Kerr: two sisters, Kathryn Blose and Phyllis Stiver; and sister in-law, Wanda Stiver.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run, and from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Big Run Presbyterian Church.

A funeral service will be held at the church at 1 p.m., officiated by Pastor Carole Bergman.

Interment will follow at McClure Cemetery, Big Run.
