Myron Lewis Rudolph, 87, of Big Run, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born at home in Henderson Township, a son of the late Lewis Ludrick Rudolph and Alice Geraldine (Shepler) Rudolph.
Following graduation, Mr. Rudolph joined the United States Army and served his time during the Korean Conflict as a supply clerk at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was very proud of his service to our country.
Myron worked most of his life as a truck driver at Interstate Amesite. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 66 of Pittsburgh. He was also the Gaskill Township Tax Collector for thirty-two years. In his younger years, he delivered the Grit paper. He always enjoyed working. He also loved his cats and had a kind heart for a hungry kitten or cat.
He is survived by a brother, James Rudolph and wife Josephine of Harmony; a sister, Joann Alice Miller; nephews Rodney Miller and Todd Miller; a niece, Beth Miller; and a nephew, Philip Rudolph, whom he considered a gift to him.
Preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, Lewis Miller.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, officiated by Joe Buterbaugh.
Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Honor Guard.
Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery, Henderson Township.
