Miriam Kerr Obituary
Miriam Leonora Kerr, 93, of Big Run, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born in Henderson Township on June 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Arment Newcome Trithart and Mary Ann (Rhodes) Trithart.
On February 16, 1949 she married Duane Henry Kerr, Sr. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2008.
Leonora was a member of the Big Run Presbyterian Church.
She was Big Run High School Valedictorian of graduating class of 1945.
Leonora worked as a seamstress at Standard Pennant in Big Run. She enjoyed sewing for her family and sewed many special dresses and items for them over the years.
She is survived by two children, Duane H. Kerr, Jr. and wife Sheila, Diane Medvid-Wilson and husband Michael; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Erbland and husband John, Jeffrey Kachmar, Julia Kachmar, Sarah Kerr, Stephanie Kerr, Jocelyn Medvid, and Stephen Medvid; six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane, and daughter, Willia Kachmar and grandson Jeremy Kachmar.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
