Michael A Farley, passed away Friday, March 22nd, at his home in Punxsutawney. Mike was born November 12, 1960, in Warren, PA to Thomas John Farley and Joyce Ann Wig Farley.
Mike grew up in Titusville enjoying a childhood of the YMCA, riding bikes, racing dirt bikes and motorcycles, fishing, hunting, trapping, playing baseball, boating, canoeing, NASCAR, and spending summers camping in Tionesta. Mike discovered wrestling at a young age by accident, stepping into the YMCA to find a tournament in progress. Completely unprepared and with no training, he won his first trophy and was hooked for life. He and a friend were the first freshmen to ever letter in wrestling at his school. Mike continued to follow all levels of the sport. The biggest interest in his life was the pursuit of a monster buck. He was often heard to say, "Have white tail, will travel". He and his crossbow, “Miss Take”, hunted around PA and VA, sometimes lucky, and sometimes skunked.
As an adult, Mike developed an interest in mechanics, buying and selling cars, importing motor bikes, following all news, learning about the law, and was very vocal about politics. He also developed an interest in his father's family roots tracing back to Ireland. Mike absolutely loved his years of traveling around the U.S., but living in VA, a.k.a. God's Country, was his favorite place.
Mike is survived by his two children, Mykel and Elena; his mother, Joyce; a brother, John; a nephew, Sean; and girlfriend, LeAnna Blose. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom; and a brother, Tim.
Private arrangements are being handled by the Shumaker Funeral Home of Punxsutawney.
