Melissa Marie Brink

Melissa “Missy” Marie Brink, 61, of Walston, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 13, 1962, in DuBois,a daughter of  Bernard Gudalis and June (Benninger) Gudalis of Sykesville.

On July 25, 1981, she married Robert “Bobby” Paul Brink.  They enjoyed forty-two years of marriage.  Bobby survives and resides in Walston.

Missy was a 1980 graduate of DuBois Area High School.  Post graduation, she received a business degree at the Phlebotomy Center in Pittsburgh. She went on to earn an Associates degree in Histology.   She worked in the medical field at Punxsutawney Area Hospital, DRMC Histology, and Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center.

She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Rossiter.

She loved her family and particularly her grandkids, she loved to watch them wrestle and play soccer.  She also enjoyed shopping, making ceramics and spending time with her dogs.

Missy was a very bubbly person with a beautiful smile and kind soul, she always had complimentary words for others.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Adam (Rachael) Brink of Oliveburg, Olivia (Cory) Jamieson of Walston; five grandchildren, Cruz Astorino, Owen Brink, Arlo Jamieson, Quinn Brink and Benji Jamieson; one sister, Kelly (Victor) Mancini of  Brockway; two brother in-laws, Tim (Joyce) Brink of Punxsutawney, Danny (Michelle) Brink of Rossiter; one sister in-law, Amy (Mike) Behrendt; nieces and nephews, Zach Brink, Macy Weimer, Mesha Brink, Mikeelee Brink, Bronson Brink, Lucy Hawk, Ty Behrendt, Neil Janocha, Jared Janocha, Mitchel Janocha and Miranda Mancini; two good family friends, Jordan Astorino and Brenda Anderson

A celebration of Life will be held at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.,Punxsutawney and friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024.

A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Friday at the Church of the Resurrection in Rossiter, celebrated by Father James Morley.
