Maureen C Masi

Maureen Collete Masi, 84, of Punxsutawney, passed away November 23, 2022 at her home.

She was born on May 24, 1938 in Liverpool, England the daughter of the late Terrence and Dorothy (Simpson) Burke. Maureen was proud to have been from the home of the Beatles and A Flock of Seagulls. In May of 1964 she married Edward James Masi, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2016.

Maureen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, walking and watching movies.

Maureen is survived by her three children: Bernadette Masi-Fisher and her husband Ernie, Paul Masi and Sonia Levy and her husband Richard all of Punxsutawney; seven grandchildren: Vincent Paul Masi, Sage and Spencer Levy, Sean Snyder, Joel and Bryan Vrobel, And Ivy Fisher; four great grandchildren: Sean, Axton, Evan and Theo; a sister, Sheila Burke of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

At the wishes of the family their will be no public visitation, a memorial mass will be said at a later date in her memory at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
