Mary Lamey Obituary

Mary M. Lamey, 96, of Delancey, passed away April 24, 2023 at Christ the King Manor.

She was born on February 23, 1927 in Delancey the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Koromaus) Valyo. On August 28, 1948 she married Thomas H. Lamery, Sr., whom preceded her in death on November 29, 1983.

She was a member Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church and a former member of the St Adrian Roman Catholic Church in Delancey. Where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, church choir and the rosary society. Mary volunteered her time working the voting boards.

Mary was a well known socializer- she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She would often take trips with her friends and had a routine of taking all the ladies to their hair appointments and Friday grocery shopping trips. But above all her beloved grandchildren were the highlight of her life.

She is survived by her four children: Janet Williamson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Thomas H. Lamey Jr, and his wife Susan of Punxsutawney, James Lamey of Freedom, PA and Gary Lamey and his wife Bonni of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren: Jessica Xapakdy of Philadelphia, Kayla Franks of Punxsutawney, Maria Elam of Nashville, TN, Rachel Lamey of Nashville, TN and Matt Williamson of Myrtle Beach, SC; five great grandchildren: Taylor, Asher, Nadia, Emma, and Joel.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Anna Miklos and Irene Shiock.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 2-6pm at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo as celebrant. Burial will be at the Adrian-Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Catholic Daughters of America or the Rosary Society at the church.
