Madison Lee Bodenhorn, 75, of Punxsutawney passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Jefferson Manor.
He was born on January 30, 1947 in Punxsutawney the son of the late Eugene Wesley Bodenhorn and Geraldine Elizabeth (Catarouche) Bodenhorn. On April 24, 1970 he married Margaret “Peggy” Podgers Bodenhorn.
Retired, Lee worked for Penn Dot for over 35 years as a truck driver. Prior to his time at Penn Dot, Lee worked for Punxsutawney Sportswear.
Lee was an avid fisherman, and you would be sure to see him fishing at Cloe Lake the first day of fishing season in the same fishing spot each year. In addition to fishing, Lee enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. In his younger years, Lee enjoyed coaching baseball, woman’s softball leagues and he also played in a men’s softball league.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of almost 52 years Peggy Bodenhorn; two children: Melissa Bodenhorn of Punxsutawney and Jonathan “JJ” Bodenhorn and his companion Kelly Spade of Rossiter; two grandchildren: Logan and Kayle; a brother, Wesley Bodenhorn of Punxsutawney, and a sister, Darlene Whysell of Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene “Tony” Bodenhorn.
