Lela Gourley

Lela R. Gourley, 69, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully November 28, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born on February 9, 1953 in Big Run, the daughter of late Russell and Delores (Bowers) Adams. On November 29, 1974 she married Ronald Gourley, who preceded her in death on August 23, 2011.

Lela worked for the US Postal Service, County Market and Sheetz for numerous years.

She enjoyed cooking and attending family gatherings where everyone was able to enjoy her food. Lela would often be found enjoying a strong cup of coffee and good conversation.  She also enjoyed watching the deer and other wildlife in her yard.

Lela is survived by her daughter, Nicole Gourley of Dillsburg, Pa; three brothers: Russell Adams and his wife Lois of Punxsutawney, John Adams of Hamilton, Douglas Adams and his wife Melissa of Hamilton; two sisters: Sharron Eberhardt and her husband John of Duncansville and Kris Adams of Dillsburg; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and her beloved yellow Lab, Harley.

A celebration of life service will be held in the spring.
