Kathryn Hetrick Obituary

Kathryn M. “Katie” Hetrick, 90, of Brookville, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Brookside Assisted Living.

She was born in Brookville on October 16, 1931, the daughter of the late Oran Emmett Mohney and June (Emery) Mohney.

On June 26, 1952, she married Russell “W.R.” Hetrick, he preceded her in death on March 06, 1995.

Mrs. Hetrick was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookville.

Katy worked at the Register and Recorders office at the Brookville Courthouse for fifteen years, she naturally enjoyed people and went above and beyond to help the customers. She and her husband also owned and operated “The Old Store” in Coolspring since 1965.  Together “Side by Side” they enjoyed auctions, refinishing and selling furniture and collectibles.  They made many friends over the years through the business.

She enjoyed sewing and making doll clothes in her free time.  Katy was kindhearted and would do anything for anyone and expect absolutely nothing in return.  She never met a four-legged animal, particularly cats, that she did not like. She loved her cat Rudy.

She was blessed to have two daughters, Brenda Roberts and husband John of Johnson City, Tennessee and Jennifer Westerman of Coolspring; two grandchildren, Matthew Roberts and wife Amanda, and Megan Roberts; one great granddaughter, Delilah Roberts.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Russ; brother John W. Mohney and son in-law Harry Westerman.

Arrangements were private and entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Interment was at St John’s Windy Hill, Rose Township.
