Judy Catherine Jones, 76, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.
She was born in DuBois on June 23, 1949, a daughter of the late John E. Burkett and Ethel (Morris) Burkett.
She married James Leroy Jones, Sr., they enjoyed forty-five years of marriage prior to his death on December 10, 2013.
Judy was a hardworking woman who never shied away from work. She managed the body shop at Johnson Motors for years, then began her own cleaning business known as “Judy’s Maid Your Day” she was well known for her impeccable services to many local businesses. Judy believed in earning her way and doing every task with pride and purpose.
She was a woman who could talk to anyone, she enjoyed life and making memories with the people she cared about most. Camping trips with her family and spending time with her dog Monti were some of her favorite times. She liked to go to the casino and had a passion for golfing, she was always up for a friendly game and the sunshine that came with it. Living in Florida suited her perfectly, the warm weather, palm trees and easygoing lifestyle made her feel at home.
Survived by two sons, James Leroy (Heather) Jr. of Anita and Steven Devere (Denette) Jones of Reynoldsville; three grandchildren, Emily (Daniel) Honecker, Zachary Jones and Tessa (Alec) Crawford; two great grandchildren, Hudson and Harlow Crawford; one brother, Donald (Mary) Burkett of Houghton Lake, Michigan.
Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, James, Norman and John Burkett and one sister, Pauline Knisley.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
