John Calvin Stormer, 82, of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania passed away April 1, 2024, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor. He was born in Homer City, PA on May 6, 1941, to the late Kenneth and Vera (Greene) Stormer.
He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1960-1964 during the Korean War.
He married Dorothy (DeFazio) Barenchik on May 30, 1981, who survives.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the casino with his wife Dot.
He was a fifty year member of F.O.E #983 Brookville Eagles.
He is survived by one daughter Betsy Stormer who resides in Brookville, PA, brother Ken (May) from Waldorf, MD, brother George (friend Kathy) from Brookville, PA, sister Mildred (Dave) Knepper from Sidman, PA, stepdaughter Kim (Larry) Liscinsky from Punxsutawney, stepdaughter Kay (Edward) Curtis from Punxsutawney, stepson John Barenchik from Punxsutawney, stepson Jason (Cheri) Barenchik from Punxsutawney, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He loved to hunt, fish, and gong to the casinos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Vera Cauldwell, sister Margaret Hudak, and brother Robert Stormer.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, April 05, 2024, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Don Jones.
