John Kennemuth Obituary

John Franklin Kennemuth, 80, of Ramsaytown area of Brookville, passed away at home on Monday, May 15, 2023, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born in Mayport on October 23, 1942, a son of the late Ralph Kennemuth and Olive (McAninch) Kennemuth. John was the last member of his immediate family.

Mr. Kennemuth was a United State Army Veteran that proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

On November 3, 1973, he married his sweetheart, Delores “Dolly” Anne Rupert.  They enjoyed nearly fifty years together.

John owned and operated Kennemuth Custom Meat Cutting for forty years.  When he wasn’t processing meat, he loved to do woodworking in a shop at his home.  His woodworking was impeccable and his talents were endless.

He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Brookville.

John was also a member of the New Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #522, and the Coudersport Consistory.

He loved collecting antiques and had a fondness of antique cars. Many years ago he acquired a 1968 Cadillac Deville that he cherished.  He formerly enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife Dolly, he is survived by three daughters, Paula (Mark) Lasky of West Springfield, Rhonda (Rob) Johnston of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Jennifer Hamilton and her companion Rod Brown of North Field, Ohio; ­­­­­­three grandchildren, Samantha (Royce) Frank, Anna and Leah Johnston; two step grandchildren, Brandon (Shelly) Mineweaser of Marshallville, Ohio and Sara Young; one great granddaughter, Kinsley Frank; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria Shick, Patricia Drayer, Judy Grey; three brothers, Ralph, Daryl and Robert Kennemuth,

In accordance with John’s wishes, there will be no viewing.  A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on June 10, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brookville.

His ashes will be interred at Pine Valley Cemetery in Delmont.

Memorial donations may be made in John’s memory to Grace Lutheran Church, 160 Franklin Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
