Joan Louise Davis

Joan Louise Davis, 81, of Punxsutawney, passed away March 17, 2024, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor.

She was born on March 30, 1942, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John Bernard Patton and Eva Marie (Robenson) Patton.

After graduating from high school, Joan furthered her education to become a Registered Nurse. Joan spent her career being a private duty nurse.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Punxsutawney and served on the Ladies Auxiliary with the Elk Run Firehall. Joan was an avid reader; her favorite book selection was reading romance books. Joan enjoyed doing yard work, planting flower gardens and walking. She will be remembered for her strong-willed, independent, and loving personality. Joan was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone.

Joan is survived by her three children: Dorothy “Dottie” Davis, William Davis and Mark Davis and his wife Christine all of Punxsutawney; a granddaughter, Tessa Davis and great granddaughter, Amidy Tokarcik; a brother, Jim Patton and his wife Debra of Elkton, MD; a sister, Mary Iovanna and her husband Mike of Birdsboro, PA.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by four siblings: Charles Patton, Paul Patton, Alfred Patton and Thema Jean Patton.

Burial will be in Ridgemont Cemetery.
