Jessie Ann Carrick, 69, of Punxsutawney, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on May 9, 2023 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born on January 1, 1954, to David M. Carrick and Sally Anne (Getch) Breth, being the first New Years Baby.
Jessie attended Punxsutawney Are High School and Jeff Tech for Cosmetology where she met and later married John Boyer.
In her early years she attended St. Peters United Church of Christ in Elk Run and was in the organization of the Rainbow Girls. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary #1231.
Jessie had a long career at the East End Uni Mart spanning over 20 years. At one of the conferences, she even won a Ford Mustang! She also worked at the Pantell Hotel and the Doller General Store in Punxsutawney.
Her work ethic and diligence as an employee could only be outmatched by the generosity of her heart and spirit towards everyone she came in contact with.
Jessie always took great pleasure and pride in taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to her weekly father-daughter day. She loved spending time with her sister playing Bingo. She took joy in going on vacation and hanging out with her aunt, uncle, and cousins to the beach. Jessie enjoyed taking rides in her car and singing along with the radio.
Jessie is survived by her beloved only daughter, Julie Ann (Boyer) Labelle and her fiancé Brad Depp of Punxsutawney; sister, Mary Lynne Carrick and her fiancé Kevin Shugars of Punxsutawney; brother, Charles M Carrick of California; uncle, Myke Carrick of Punxsutawney and her precious aunt Ruthie of Lower Burrell; grandchildren: Chelsey, Alexia and Raymond Phillips and her baby girl, Mollee Ann Plotner; seven great grandchildren; nephews: Michael Carrick of Punxsutawney, David Carrick and his wife Cathy of North Carolina, Denny Young Jr. and his wife Kelly of Clarksburg, PA, Ryan Donnalley and his wife Tamara of Florida and three great nieces: Kenzie, Aubree, Brynlee and many special cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David M Carrick and Sally Ann Breth; her brother, Gene (Geno) Carrick and great granddaughter, Anna LaRock.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many close friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on June 3, 2023 at 1:00pm at the St. Peter's Church of Christ, Elk Run.
