Jerry Shon Stewart

Jerry Shon Stewart, 62, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born in Punxsutawney on August 04, 1962, a son of the late Jerry Harlan Stewart and Andrea Viola (Brewer) Stewart-Peace.

Jerry attended Punxsutawney Area High School.

He worked construction and enjoyed tinkering around.  He had the knack for getting anything to start, he could fix a clock, a lawn mower, a motorcycle or a car.

His bond with his sister Gina was undeniable.  He always found a way to be near her, even following her Texas and back.  Gina remembers her brother with these words, “you may not have had by means a lot of material things, but you did have a lot of people that loved you, and now you have an abundance of both”.

In addition to his sister, Gina (Michael) Nicholson of Reynoldsville, he is survived by one brother, Dwight Troy Stewart of Indiana, one half brother, Jerry (Olga) Pearce of DuBois; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, his only son, Shon Allen Hyde and one brother, James Zane Stewart.

There will be no viewing.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
