Janet Marie Shields

Janet Marie Shields, 69, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Mulberry Square Elder Care.

She was born on June 18, 1950 in Port Allegany, a daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Cora Anne (Kinney) James.

Janet was Methodist by faith.

She worked as a School Bus Driver for many years, and also worked as a caregiver.

Her enjoyments were going for walks in the woods with her dogs Minnie and Moe, listening to music and watching the Young and the Restless.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Larry James and wife Stella of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Brittany James and Christopher Uplinger, Brock James, Amanda Menneti, Tanner James, Darin James, and Emily Mennetti; One great grandchild, Breeze Uplinger; four sisters, Kate Waterson of Indiana, PA, Joyce King of Shepherd, Texas, Joann Gray of Shepherd Texas and Elizabeth Pape of Anita; four brothers, Tom James and wife Pat of Wellsville New York, Harry James and wife Sandra of Punxsutawney, Richard James and wife Linda of Boston, Massachusetts, Joseph James and wife Kathy of Dayton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her mother, Cora (Kinney) Yohe, her father, Thomas James, one brother, Stanley James.

There will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
