Irene White Obituary

E. Irene White, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born in Marion Center on January 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Jason E. Blose and Elizabeth (Blystone) Blose.

On September 12, 1953, she married the love of her life, J. Fred White.  They were a great example of what a marriage should be, they dearly loved one another and worked hard together on the family farm and raised three wonderful boys.

Irene attended Valley Chapel United Methodist Church.

In addition to being a fantastic homemaker, she also worked at AM/PM Personal Care Home in Delancey for many years.  She loved to help others and found great satisfaction in giving of herself and her talents. She loved to make pies, cookies, candy and cook for her family and the residents of AM/PM.

Her family was her pride and joy and she always made sure she did all she could possibly do for her them. She was selfless and put everyone before herself.  She would not have had it any other way.

In addition to her husband Fred, she is survived by her three boys, John (Nancy) White, Jeff White, Jim (Steven Hutchison), all of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Mark (Dawn) White and Jason White; two step granddaughters, Lori Cox and Candi Stineberg; two step great grandchildren; one brother, John Blose of Roulette; two sisters, Arbutus Blose of Indiana and Alexis White of Texas.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter inlaw Karen White; two sisters, Shirley Zavitz and Arbutus Blose; three brothers, Junior Blose, Finley Blose and Harold Blose.

In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
