Hilary Ann Fisher, 87, of Brookville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
She was born in Pittsburgh on March 19, 1938, a daughter of the late Royal Joseph Hartwick and Doris Maude (Fisher) Hartwick.
Hilary was a gentle, kind soul that gave so much to others. She was a lifelong caregiver, she devoted much of her life to nurturing and guiding children, both in her own family and throughout the community. Hilary provided comfort, laughter and a gentle hand to generations of children who will always remember her warmth and kindness.
She also loved to write and found joy in the simple act of connecting through letters. Over the years, she became a beloved pen pal to many, offering friendship, wisdom, and a comforting presence through every letter she sent.
Hilary will be remembered for her smile, her giving heart, patient nature and quiet strength she carried in every season of life. Her presence will be dearly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Heather Kohan of Pittsburgh and Eryn Verostic of Brookville; three grandchildren, Richard Ivanisin, Andrew Joseph “AJ” Versotic, and Cody Verostic; one great grandson, Braxton.
Preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Marilyn Glenn and son -inlaw, Andrew Verostic.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
