Gordon "Gordy" Lee Hayes

Gordon “Gordy” Lee Hayes, Jr., 50, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at home.

He was born in Punxsutawney on August 13, 1974, a son of the late Gordon Lee Hayes, Sr. and Patricia Ann (Kromer) Hayes.

Gordy was very proud of his high school diploma that he received in 2022 from Penn Foster High School.

He was a devoted and loving husband to Michelle Ann (Kotula) Hayes.

Gordy was a funny, kind and loving peacemaker of his family. He was incredibly big-hearted and loved his children and grandchildren.

His hobbies included playing video games with his favorite Mega Rock 80’s songs and singing along, he also liked making 3D prints with his family and creating cement statues with his son.  His daily routine included watching Supernatural at bedtime.

He loved his dogs, Vanilla and Moo Moo.  Vanilla had a special place in his heart.

In addition to his wife Michelle, he is survived by three children, Adalida Marie Hayes, of Clymer, Ryan Lee Hayes of Punxsutawney and Grace “Lou” Elayne Hayes of Punxsutawney; three grandchildren, Joseph, Sofie and Olivia Hayes; two brothers, Troy Kromer of Punxsutawney, Russ (Rhonda) Hayes of Punxsutawney; three sisters, Drema Poerio of Punxsutawney, Trisha Hayes and husband Dan Zurenda of Punxsutawney and Mary Libbeco of Kentucky. .

There will be no viewing.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
