Gisela E Stieveling

Gisela Emilie Stieveling, 88, of Punxsutawney, passed away January 6, 2023 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born on February 25, 1934 in Erkrath, Germany, the daughter of the late Friedrich and Wilhelmine (Wald) Fette.

Gisela worked as a caregiver and Au Pair for various families over the years.

She was a member of the Punxsutawney Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed singing the choir at the church.

She would often enjoy playing bingo at the towers with her friends. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, visiting her family in Germany and spending time with her grandchildren. Gisela will be remembered for spirit and being full of life.

Gisela is survived by her two children: Ralph Stieveling and his wife Mary of Bay Shore, NY and Barbara Ginther and her husband Jeff of Reynoldsville; three grandchildren; and a sister, Renate Schussler of Hahn, Germany.

In addition to her parents, Gisela was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Bettina Mae and Charles Robert Ginther, and a sister, Anneliese Andrecht.

The family will receive friends from 2-4pm on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney. A funeral service will follow at 4pm with Rev. Erin Kobs officiating. Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Punxsutawney Presbyterian Church.
