George Barner, 89, of Stump Creek, passed away October 9, 2023, at his home.
He was born on June 16, 1934, in Lamar, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Orvis and Bertha (Nihart) Barner. George proudly served in the United States Army.
Retired, George worked for Lezzer Lumber for many years. He was a proud hardworking and independent man. He enjoyed attending the various local farming shows. He always had a well kept property and enjoyed growing a garden.
George is survived by his niece, Holly Emberg and a nephew, John Barner.
In addition to his parents, Geroge was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Emberg.
A grave side service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Luthersburg Union Cemetery with Pastor Carole Bergman officiating.
Burial will be in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to any local Veterans Association.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney.
