Galen Dean Painter, of Smithport, PA, died on December 4, 2022 at the age of 78. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Dean was born September 8, 1944, in Punxsutawney and was a lifelong area resident of Smithport. He worked for Operator Engineers Local 66 operating heavy equipment. He is survived by his wife Carole Jean (O’Hara) and sons Dean (Donna) Painter, Jr, of Millersville, PA; and Doug Painter of Smithport; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son Donald, parents Earl and Ethel (Houck) Painter of Smithport; and brothers Kenneth and Carl both of Punxsutawney.
At the request of the familiy, no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
The family is grateful for condolences but declines flowers and donations.
