Frances Emily Gunter

Frances Emily Gunter, 85, of Reynoldsville, passed away on Monday, December 08, 2025, at UPMC Passavant Hospital.

She was born in Punxsutawney on May 3, 1940, a daughter of the late Jacob Rodgers and Frances Louise (Leonard) Rodgers.

Frances married Donald Gunter. He preceded her in death on September 12, 2017.

She was a woman who found her greatest joy in the simple comforts of life, settling into her favorite chair to watch television and quiet evenings surrounded by the family she adored.  As a hobby, Frances could turn a ball of yarn into something beautiful with her crocheting, each stitch woven with love and patience.

She is survived by five children; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald; two brothers, Dutch Rogers and James Rodgers; one sister, Louise Cativera.

Arrangements are private and under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.

Interment was at McClure Cemetery, Big Run.
