Floyd Freeman Scott, 70, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in Rossiter, PA.
He was born April 10, 1955, in Smithfield, Virginia, a son of the late John Wesley Scott and Mary Estelle (Boilen) Scott.
Freeman worked in the restaurant/catering business for most of his working life, known for his exceptional cooking and warm hospitality.
Freeman was a man whose heart was always turned toward others, offering kindness, support and a listening ear regardless of how he was feeling himself. Selfless to his core, he always put family first and made it his mission to check in on everyone, even when his own health challenges mounted. His unwavering positivity was a beacon of hope, no matter what life threw his way, Freeman found reasons to smile and helped others do the same. With a contagious laugh and a quick wit, he had the remarkable gift of making heavy burdens lighter with his humor and wisdom. A man of deep faith, Freeman believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer and God's ability to bring about change. His presence was like light on a dark day, and his family was the center of his world.
Freeman's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his selfless love, infectious laughter, shared stories, his jokes and unwavering faith. He will be remembered not only for his generous spirit but for his ability to find joy and share wisdom even in life's most challenging moments.
He is survived by one brother, James Scott of Harrisburg; three sisters, Martha Scott and Louise Scott, both of Harrisburg and Joyce Williams of Virginia; his beloved dog Foxx, who was his best friend and constant companion who brought him daily joy.
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Dallas Scott; three sisters, Mary Jean Parker, Geneva Scott and Dolores Ward; and a sweet bonus daughter in heaven who meant the world to him Laura Lee.
