Evelyn G. Keller “Sis”, 91, of Reynoldsville, passed away October 2, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born on April 18, 1931 in DuBois the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Haag) Muth. On December 11, 1949 she married Clair Keller, who survives.
Evelyn worked for Standard Pennet and Loree Footwear of Big Run and retired from Pairs Cleaners in Dubois.
Sis was a proud member of Paradise United Church of Christ.
Evelyn enjoyed the outdoors from a young age she was an avid hunter and fishermen. She continued her passion for hunting and fishing well into her late 80s. Sis loved going to her family camp“Muths Camp” which was built by her father and grandfather. Her other hobbies included gardening, canning and baking. At any family gathering there was always the request for her famous “Keller Chocolate Cake” or one of her pies for as she was known as “The Pie Lady”.
Sis was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of almost 73 years Clair Keller of Reynoldsville and two daughters, Diane Askey and her husband Floyd of Brockway and Denise Neal and her husband Bryan of Brookville; three grandchildren: Craig Askey and his wife Danielle, Todd Neal and his wife Ann, Toby Neal and his wife Cherise; 6 great grandchildren: Alexis, Dylan, Kennedy, Gage, Madison, Aubrey Neal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Muth.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Paradise United Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Fillman officiating. Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5, from 4-8pm at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney. An addition hour of viewing will be held on Thursday at the Church from 10am until the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Paradise United Church of Christ.
