Eleanor Smith

Eleanor Smith, 80, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at AM/PM Personal Care Home in Delancey.

She was born in Punxsutawney on February 20, 1940, a daughter of the late Ralph Beck and Della May (Smyers) Beck.

Eleanor was a 1958 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

On August 27, 1960 she became the wife of R. Richard “Wiff” Smith.  They enjoyed sixty years of marriage.  He survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

Eleanor worked with her husband at S&S Tire in Punxsutawney for many years.

She enjoyed life, she like to laugh and be around her family and friends.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Tawn Smith of Punxsutawney, Shawn Smith of Punxsutawney and Sandy (Harvey) Matthews of Xenia, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tara Smith, Tawn (Rachelle) Smith, Jake (Joelle) Smith, Tucker (Shayna) Smith and Hannah Smith; three great grandchildren, Reese, Noah and Colt Smith and a new one on the way.

Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, William “Bill” Beck, Thomas “Tom” Beck and Gerald “Jerry” Beck; two sisters, Jeanne Himmerich and Sandra Namminga; one great grandson, Ashton Smith.

There will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
