Doris Arlene Leeman

Doris Arlene Leeman, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born in DuBois on November 19, 1937, a daughter of the late Frank Ivan Ritchey and Mabel Claire (Hollenbaugh) Ritchey.

Doris was Methodist by faith.

On October 10, 1969, she married Vincent O. Leeman, Jr. Together, they moved to Texas and enjoyed twenty-eight years of marriage prior to his death on May 7, 1997.

Doris was primarily a homemaker, however, at the age of forty-three she became an apartment manager for a rental business in Texas, it was a job she was very proud of.

In her free time, she enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She is survived by six children, Donald Eugene (Bonnie) Byerly of Punxsutawney, Cindy Lee (David) Williams of Brockport, Richard Alan (Trish) Byerly of Punxsutawney, Norman Frank (Phyllis) Byerly of Punxsutawney, Kimberly (Rick) States of DuBois and Carol (Kevin Davis) Hankinson of Punxsutawney; eighteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Vince and five brothers, Francis Leland Ritchey, Robert Dwight Ritchey, Walter Level Ritchey, Bernard Clair Ritchey and Arnold Leroy Ritchey, and son in-law, Vance Hankinson.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation.  Arrangement under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
