Donald James Campbell, 70, of Rossiter, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor.
He was born in Punxsutawney on November 13, 1954, a son of the late Earl Lewis Campbell and Florence Jetta (Gibson) Campbell.
Don was a graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and later attended Wyotech Trade School to become an automobile mechanic.
He was a hardworking man who spent much of his life behind the wheel, driving trucks, cement mixers and coal trucks with dedication.
Outside of work, he found joy in the thrill of car races at Marion Center Speedway, faithfully attending for over forty-two years and sat in the same seat year after year.
Like his father, he enjoyed cooking. He had fond memories of enjoying a hot dog and chocolate milk from Joe Haag’s with his dad.
Don also loved his old dog’s Jake and Dale Jr.; they gave him years of companionship and loyalty.
He is survived by three children, Kenneth Cedric Campbell of Yakima, Washington, Earl (Michelle) Campbell of Punxsutawney and Seth Campbell and girlfriend Tish of Pittsburgh; one brother, Merle “Mac” (Jeanie) Campbell of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Donna (Harold) Pearce of Tipton and Joyce Campbell of Punxsutawney.
Preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2025, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
