Diane Lee Oswalt, 65, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at home.
She was born in Allegheny County on September 03, 1959, a daughter of the late Thomas William Richards and Victoria Laverne (Prisalac) Richards.
On December 28, 1979, she married the love of her life, Joseph Glenn Oswalt. They enjoyed nearly forty-five wonderful years together and raised three lovely daughters.
Diane worked as a dietary aid in the cafeteria of Punxsutawney Area Hospital for nineteen years. She was always happy and very friendly, she enjoyed seeing and talking with everyone.
She was very involved in Girl Scouts for many years, she also helped with the Cub Scouts. She and her husband spent countless hours in scout activities and touched many young lives over the years. Her dedication to the cause was immeasurable and her love for the children was evident.
Each summer and fall she enjoyed trips to Benezette to see the elk with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Crystal (Jonathan) Gindlesperger of Seward, Jennifer (Chad Kaza) Oswalt, and Becky Jo (Cory) Wright of Creekside; three grandchildren, Alexis and Jonathan Gindlesperger and Owen Wright.
Preceded in death by her parents and her twin brother, David Richards.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will follow at Smicksburg Cemetery.
