Diana Bair Obituary

Diana Lee Bair, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor.

She was born at home in Cloe, Jefferson County, on May 06, 1936, a daughter of the late Thomas William Taylor and Frances Aldean (Witherow) Taylor.

On March 19, 1955, she married her sweetheart, Clifford Leroy Bair.  They had sixty-eight years together prior to his death on February 14, 2023.

She formerly attended the Big Run Presbyterian Church.

Diana was a wonderful homemaker, she also worked as a reading aide at the Big Run School for fourteen years.  She had also previously worked for Ames Department Store.

She was always well dressed and put together. She had a great sense of style, loved jewelry and wore the prettiest coats adorned with a beautiful pin to top it off.

Her enjoyments were gardening, reading, taking care of her home, crocheting, baking and cooking. She made outstanding cookies and fudge.  Being a grandparent was very important to her, she was incredibly proud of her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Dennis Lee (Joann) of Bethel Park, Melissa Ann (Keith) Ferguson, Krista Ann (Robert) Johnson of Punxsutawney and Melinda Lee (Randy) Powell of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Kirk (Mary) Ferguson, Vanessa Johnson, Kasey (Becky) Ferguson, Rhiannon Bair and Trevor Bair; one sister, Elizabeth “Ann” (Lester) Villella.

Preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Clifford “Lee”, and four brothers, William, David, Thomas P. and John Taylor.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
